Moving : Please Update Bookmarks

Blogger's been twitchy lately. I've lost posts and images and had difficulty signing on.

While the interface is superbly simple and some of the Blogger features are really nice, they are only useful if you can use them and not lose your post.

Thus I'm biting the bullet and moving. After 1021 posts, moving is a bit of a pain (all the blogs that link here are now going to the wrong place) but the above issues and the spamblog problem are making this a chore rather than a hobby.

All is not lost loyal fans! :)

It's still a tad rough around the edges and is at post #2 as I post this.

Exam heck is over.
There as a terrible scare when the computer ate both my last paper and the takehome portion of a final exam last night.
There was much furious typing today but both were turned in minutes before the deadline.
The day is saved :)

The rest of the week will be consumed going to a welcome to America/going away for some exchange students.
LOTS of yardwork.
Taking care of some Coast Guard matters.
The long neglected trailer repairs.
...and sleep.
Blogging will become less intermittent by weeks end.

In the meantime, I found this on my hard drive recently, and though I don't know the source....I must say it cries out for captioning.

UPDATE: I've no idea why the .gifs stopped dancing...I've pretty much tried everything including deleting and reposting the post.

UPDATE2: Perusing the blog it looks like Blogger no longer supports animated .gifs....pooh...well it's time to get a real site anyway.

I felt terrible this morning and went to bed instead of school after work....slept 9 hours, wow...

Anyway, I've got 2 Papers due next week. My hours doubled at work.(yay!...er... ) Japanese class is reaching critical mass and I'm about 2 days behind. The trailer has enough issues I may put a fork in it...(no water for one thing) and I'm going out of town Saturday.

Thus blogging will be light till at least Friday, so here is one of those kick-ass-magical-warrior- type Pilgrim-looking chicks from Disgaea 2. :)

Light Posting

A few posts in draft form need polishing but this is a tough week at school as I have a report and a drill weeekend upcoming. I set up another blog with which to embarass myself fiddling with Japanese here. Anyway, look at the pretty Angel. Will be back ASAP.

Ummm...What, exactly, was Danbooru?

I fear I should I be worried. I mean he referenced me as someone who this would affect.

Possible fallout from the Danbooru death rattle notwithstanding, I probably should be concerned.
You see, in the post I am referred to as one of the "cool kids"....thus the end times are surely nigh.


Note that as SDB use no permalinks, I have no references for my newfound coolness...hence no one will believe me...so perhaps there is yet hope.

Admiral Spoor is Bored...

....but that's to be expected.

The problem is that the Brickmuppet's legions, er, dozens, er....(insert realistic unit) of adoring fans are bored by the general lack of posting.

Alas, this is exam week so there will be little posting until this weekend.

On the banality front...

I think I aced my Chinese History Exam. 1 more big one (Japanese)

I've got the clutch to work again, it still consists of 2 pieces of wood, a bolt and lots of twisty ties. ;)

Next week is spring break, which means trailer repairs and yardwork. Then hopefully, a roadtrip.

Now I'm going back to study...right after I stare at Admiral Spoor for a bit.

Warning....Banality Blogging to Follow!

The Macintosh now will NOT interface with the blogger dashboard at all.

There are several possible fixes.
Get a REAL domain...
Get a new computer,
Upgrade the E-Machine
Get Firefox to work on my E-Mac....somehow.

None of which are likely to happen any time soon. I'm up to my earlobes in homework, my hours at UPS have just doubled....which is most awkward given school. I'm now leading a study group in my Chinese history class and as my Tuition assistance and FA did not happen I NEED to work these extra hours to have the money to pay for the semester. I still have to lose weight to stay in the Coast Guard's good graces. My heat died again and I'm still having electrical problems. The pickup of peril needs to go into the shop.

Japanese is kicking my ass. I had to drop this class twice previously because of mobilizations and work schedule changes, so I got lulled into a false sense of security as I coasted along as the class know-it-all...until I got back from being sick last week...when I realized..."Oh God...I have no idea what she's talking about!" There was much benkiyoshimasuificating Saturday afternoon and this morning. OTOH I should be caught up by midterms if I keep the nose to the grindstone.
I have Math test tomorrow.
I have a Kanji test on Wednesday.
I have a Japanese grammar test on Friday.
I have a History paper due in 2 weeks.
I Drill with the Coast Guard this upcoming weekend, and as I'm now a boarding officer I'll likely be quite busy training others and leading boardings.

Currently I'm at Web City slinking through the many tubes of the Internet, though mainly to take advantage of their high speed Internet in association with Rikai.com. For a while the cybercafe will be the only way I can blog, until I get my interface issues sorted out, and as I'm busy blogging is going to be even lighter than usual for a bit...especially this upcoming week.

Other things are looking up, my BP is holding steady around normal and I've finally licked the creeping crud I contracted. My weight loss has stalled again, but as my pants are getting steadily baggier, this is probably due to muscle acquisition. This is a good thing.

All in all things are actually going quite good....hectic is not bad...just a sign of progress. Total lack of annoyances are generally a sign of death...so...Yay!
Bring on the bedlam! :)

I've been hacked!! (update: I've been a doofus)

UPDATE: It seems that the site is secure. I was not a hack as such. It was a failed attempt at humor that was able to be attempted because, I, (for some reason I can't fathom) hit "remember password" on a publicly accessible computer at the comic store last night.

Well I'm feeling dumb.

I only got alerted to this when a friend E-mailed to ask why I'd left the CGR....followed quickly by an inquiry from a shipmate. THAT could have gotten complicated quickly.

I'm just glad I happened to be online for school and caught it when I did....

Superbusy

Next week I'm house-sitting/cat-sitting/bird-sitting/ yard-sitting for my folks, studying for my boarding officer board on Saturday, taking my Coast Guard physical on Friday, taking a Japanese test, working extra hours at UPS, doing the full time student thing, setting the date for the local Art House to show a Japanese film sponsored by the Asian Studies department, (Tokyo Godfathers) working on my bathroom, doing my Coast Guard drill next weekend, giving blood, meeting with and tutoring my conversation partner, and taking a math test.

Blogging may be light....

One aspect of the new Blogger is of course that posts can be categorised....this is actually quite cool, but as each post must be categorized individually, and I've blogged 784 times, this is quite a tedious process.

Anyhoo, I've done 330 posts already, I've got to take a break, so here is some of Katie De Sousa's superb artwork to tide you over.

I've linked to her before, she was doing very good work then and has been improving since. Keep an eye on this girl. She's going places.

I switched to the new version of blogger and am slowly going about categorizing my ~780 posts....the first 95 are done (good grief! I've written some crap over the years)....

..oh, and I have just discovered that I'm able to post animated .gif files.



The potential for mischief and poor taste is even greater than before.

Even More Intermittent Than Usual....

We are going into the final 2 weeks of Christmas hell at UPS. Between those 2 weeks is a Coast Guard drill weekend. I'm also working on my trailer every day to fix outlets destroyed by an old lightening strike, re-install central heat (yay!) and generally turn it into the swinging bachelor pad du' Ken. :)
Thus I'm likely to not do much postage for a bit.

So I leave you with this bit of nondenominational holiday cheer.

It's Christmas at UPS, or as we UPSers say...%#@&*^%$!

At our building we've consistently been exceeding our max volume for last year for a while now (It's not even Dec. yet). The volume is absolutely unreal and the depth of stupidity exibited by some shipping depts is astonishing. (Yes people...you should TAPE THE BOXES SHUT!!!)

Anyway, the good news is that I'm not short of overtime...the bad news is that my free time is pretty much nonexistant right now.

Oh dang.....



If this is the worst economy since Hoover...I wonder why he gets such a bad rap....

Blogmatters...Ghost of Firefox...

Now my Mac will not talk to blogger at all.

There seems to be a problem with Firefox....which I never got to run right and thought I'd uninstalled. Apperantly it did not completely die and she is still lurking amongst the dark forests of my hard drive, spreading fear and misery.

Anyway, I'm here at Web City now, blogging, drinking the best mochas on the planet and making small talk with the barrista-babes of chaos....
