For your Perusal: a Hitchslapping

Scads of people are linking to this exchange between Christopher Hitchens and Reagan the lesser.

Note that RR does make a lucid if somewhat erroneous point to start when he questions the validity of another guests "Incresed attacks mean we're winning" argument. That argument DOES have merit as many of the terrorist actions indicate desperation , however it strikes me as overly optimistic and rather gauche given the cost these thugs inflict with their tantrums. The larger points however are comletely lost on or denied by the anchorleftie.

The most troubling thing about Political Teens post (and the interview itself) is the description of Hitchens as a FORMER leftie. Hitch is still a quite left leaning charachter. The fact that he supprts the war in Iraq should not be the sole determination of his political alignment but in these polarized times that is what has happened. Hitchens is principled and intelligent. He is also an old school leftist, I'm sure he does not appreciate being lumped in with righties like me any more than we are happy to have big government socialists presented as mainstream conservatives.
