This has not been getting much coverage at all but it looks like Rota and Saipan got clobbered by Typhoon Chaba. Josie, over at Latitude 13 reports that those islands are without water or power, although Guam weathered the storm pretty well.
This storm was at least as bad as Charlie, at least in the northern Marianas but the media tend to ignore the overseas territories.
The other important point is that the amature radio association had the above scoop and are helping in the recovery efforts. This exemplifies the sort of decentralized "pack not a herd" mentality that is Americas best strength, albiet an untapped one.
