Well, it is STILL raining.
The road has only got 1 foot rather than Sundays 3 and the parents back yard has only 3-4 inches of water as opposed to the foot or more that was back there Sunday...but it is STILL raining.
Sunday the sewer backed up into my folks downstairs bathroom, which does not bode well at all.
For reasons OTHER than the fact I had to clean it up.
If the sewers are that full then we'll be in real trouble if even a mild hurricane or a nor'easter comes through here. The ground is saturated to the point that one can loose a shoe in the muck, meaning that a strong wind will bring down trees and thereby powerlines....if the drains are clogged another bad rainstorm will bring REAL flooding.
Note that we haven't gotten ANYTHING like the rest of the east coast has this weekend.
One final note:
Many of my fellow Virginia drivers are like earthworms...
That is, when it rains they crawl onto the road and flop about helplessly....
