Well, I'm off the crutches, off the cane, and now have a brace that looks like a piece of Borg hardware. The pain flairs up quite a bit from time to time but it's getting vastly better. I should be able to return to work and resume drilling by the first of November.
On the down side, I haven't gotten a paycheck in 6 weeks, about the worst possible time for this (the semester that I returned to school) so my savings weren't what the should have been. Additionally the medical leave pay did not go through (I have a 50 lb weight restriction....not an issue at most jobs, but as UPS requires a 70lb weightlifting capability....).
Thus I am being frugal-Ken. If not for the little diesel pickup I'd be in dire straights just from gas. I've considered getting a job elswhere, but with school now I'm better served to just take advantage of the time off and lack of distractions that disposable income provides.
4 more weeks......I'll make it...even if I have to delve into my disaster supplies and loot the generator fuel, though unless I have a big bill it shouldn't come to that.
What will 15 cents do?
