A few years ago I blogged on the fact that the city council of Galena Alaska and local tribal elders are considering a maintenance free mini nuclear reactor to power the town and the neaby Inuit reservation.
Well here is a more in depth article on the reactor (with a good PDF representation of it) as well as some of the hurdles the town faces for this visionary decision.
With the POTUS backing nukes in a big way, I sincerly hope that a lot of the red tape associated with this sort of carbon free innovation will get cut!
