Frank Kelley Freas RIP :(

Frank Kelly Freas died Sunday at 82.

In addition to being one of the great sci-fi illustrators, Mr. Freas is just about the only person I've heard of about whom NO ONE had anything bad to say. He was from this area and lots of people had dealings with him, however, even the most political local fan groups (who can find fault with anyone) could not find an unkind word to say about him.

I only met him once, and he did not leave a bad impression at all, it is worth noting that by ALL accounts he was a very decent, kind and facinating man. His work which was outstanding, will give people joy for years to come, but the world is dimminished for his loss.
