After some research the deductions on my paycheck turned out to be a tax lean that was misidentified.
I'll take my W2s to the state tomorrow to get this worked out. I don't owe any taxes.....in fact this is the third time this has happened....in each case simply taking mean old mister W2 down to the tax office has been enough to stop the lean and get my money back.
I swear I think the state does this on speculation to see how many people either wont fight it or dont have their W2s.
