"They've got a Blimp.....Cool!"

Well this about takes the cake....

Here is a proposal to use a massive airship (I mean MASSIVE, it is 1 nautical mile long!) to achieve orbit.

It seems that they intend to get it to an altitude high enough to use an ion engine to slowly build up orbital velocity. If it works it will take 5 days or so to reach orbit.

If it works, it will be awesome.....a really reuseable way to get heavy loads into space.

I'm going to keep an eye on this one.
